Onde sempre di un metro anche per il secondo round del Quiksilver Pro, iniziato in tarda mattinata a Snapper Rocks in condizioni irregolari che hanno riservato qualche sorpresa, con l’eliminazione di Jordy Smith da parte di Tiago Pires e di John John Florence da parte di Travis Logie.
Tra le teste di serie, Mick Fanning e Julian Wilson rientrano nel main event, insieme a Owen Wright, appena tornato nel Tour dopo l’infortunio.
