Disputate le heat dalla 1 alla 13, con l’eliminazione shock di Slater da parte di Owen Wright, la seconda di quest’anno dopo quella a Bells Beach.
Parkinson esce dalla serie negativa dei 33esimi posti collezionati negli ultimi eventi e avanza al terzo round, mentre Fanning batte Gudauskas nell’ultima batteria del giorno, anche se non senza fatica.
