Boost mobile: i favoriti non arrivano al quarto round

Surfcorner.it – Era già toccato a Taj Burrow e Joel Parkinson, i due top five ancora in corsa per il titolo eliminati al secondo round del Boost Mobile Pro di Trestles dalle wild card Dane Reynolds e Jordy Smith.
Le stesse due wild cards hanno proseguito ieri a far danni eliminando rispettivamente Mick Fanning, al vertice del ranking e super lanciato al titolo di campione del mondo, e Andy Irons.
Sia Smith che Reynolds si sono già qualificati per il WCT 2008, ma non hanno resistito a dare un assaggio di quello che ci aspetterà il prossimo anno.
Dei top 5 rimane in gara solo Slater che passa al quarto round vincendo su Machado.
Nemmeno il resto dei top 10 ce la fa: Hobgood assente per infortunio, mentre Bede Durbidge, Daniel Wills, Dean Morrison e Travis Logie sono già fuori, chi al secondo chi al terzo round.
